Lexington, Ky. – Aug. 1, 2018 – The Kentucky Summer Horse Show series is treating Kelley Farmer well as she rode to back-to-back Professional Hunter Grand Championships, claiming her second title Wednesday at the Kentucky Summer Classic with More Fun. With a clean sweep of the Green Conformation Hunters, Farmer earned the division championship before ultimately claiming the grand champion title and a perfect score with Larry Glefke’s 7-year-old Oldenburg gelding.
More Fun, also known as “Casper,” donned the blue ribbon six times across Tuesday and Wednesday’s Green Conformation Hunter division, winning the model, under saddle, three over fences classes and the handy round. More Fun is in top form for competition at the Kentucky Horse Park as Farmer now aims the gelding at the 3’6” height of the Platinum Performance/USHJA Green Hunter Incentive Championship during the second week of the Bluegrass Festival Horse Show.
The two weeks of the Kentucky summer series have proved successful for Farmer after she rode to the Professional Hunter Grand Championship during the first week at the Kentucky Summer Horse Show with Aizlynn Radwanski’s 11-year-old Dutch Warmblood gelding, Because. The duo maintained top form during the second week at the Kentucky Summer Classic as they captured two championship titles Wednesday in the High Performance Hunter and High Performance Conformation Hunter, after riding to first place in all classes of both divisions on Tuesday.
Farmer followed up her top awards on Because to claim the reserve champion award in both the High Performance Hunter and High Performance Conformation Hunter with Point Being, owned by Derby Lane LLC, after the 11-year-old Warmblood gelding swept all classes in both divisions on Wednesday.
The Kentucky Horse Shows Grand Hunter Champion Awards are presented by Visse Wedell, with champions awarded in the Professional, Amateur Owner, Junior, Pony, Adult Amateur and Children’s Divisions.
Hunter competition will resume at the Kentucky Summer Classic this Thursday morning in the Stonelea Ring with the Large Junior 16 – 17 Hunter division. The week will highlight hunter competition with the $5,000 USHJA National Hunter Derby, sponsored by World Equestrian Center and Kentucky Horse Shows, on Saturday, Aug. 4.
